Linn on target as Arbroath prevail
Posted Sunday, November 10, 2019 by PA
Bobby Linn scored his fifth league goal of the season as Arbroath thumped Ladbrokes Championship rivals Inverness 3-0 at Gayfield.
Scott Stewart fired Arbroath ahead in the 28th minute with a low strike beyond Mark Ridgers.
The Smokies doubled their lead from the penalty spot nine minutes after the break as Linn converted following a foul by Colin Hamilton.
Caley’s punishment was complete in the 86th minute as substitute Omar Kader pinged Michael McKenna’s pass past Ridgers.
It was Arbroath’s first win over Inverness in 10 attempts and at least partially avenged the 7-0 League Cup defeat they suffered in the Highlands in July 2016.
