Josh Kay’s second-half winner clinched Barrow a 1-0 home victory against Sutton.
Midfielder Kay struck the only goal six minutes into the second period to seal Barrow’s ninth win in their last 10 league matches and lift them up to fourth in the table.
Olly Dyson fired an early effort over the crossbar for the Blues and after midfielder Patrick Brough rattled the crossbar with a deflected 30-yard drive, Matt Platt’s thumping header flew just over.
Kay broke the deadlock in the 51st minute, neatly controlling the ball before his effort took a deflection and curled over Sutton goalkeeper Jamie Butler.
Barrow completed the game with 10 men, with Jason Taylor forced off injured after both substitutes had been sent on, but the home side withstood a late barrage to hold on for all three points.
