Arbroath back on track with Alloa win
Posted Sunday, November 03, 2019 by PA

Arbroath boosted their hopes of breaking into the top four of the Ladbrokes Championship with a 2-1 home defeat of Alloa – their third win in four matches.
Bobby Linn opened the scoring for the home side at Gayfield Park in the 16th minute, netting from a tight angle following good work by Luke Donnelly.
It was 2-0 11 minutes later when the same pair combined, Linn returning the favour for Donnelly to score as Arbroath looked to bounce back from their defeat at Dunfermline.
Alan Trouten halved the deficit 10 minutes before half-time for Alloa – who won 3-2 at this venue in the Scottish League Cup in July.
However, there was to be no equaliser for the Wasps, who remain in the bottom two.
