Rio Ferdinand got in on the action of mocking avid Arsenal fan Piers Morgan’s slip-up on Twitter over the weekend.
The ever-vocal TV presenter was tweeting about his beloved Gunners as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Arsenal appeared to grab a winner in the final 10 minutes as Greek defender Sokratis scored from close range with what would have been his second goal of the match.
However, the strike was controversially ruled out by VAR with Callum Chambers adjudged to have fouled Luka Milivojevic in the build-up to the finish.
An excited Morgan couldn’t help but celebrate on Twitter after seeing Sokratis find the back of the net.
“BOOOOOM!!!!! 3-2,” Morgan tweeted with a picture of a jubilant Sokratis.
But the Good Morning Britain host was hit with a swathe of backlash as the video referee overruled Martin Atkinson.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand was one of those, with the ex-England centre-back quoting Morgan’s tweet with the shifty eyes emoji.
Old foe Gary Lineker also took the prime opportunity to mock the 52-year-old, writing “Ooooops!”.
Morgan went on to slam VAR in general, with it’s use coming under heavy fire over the weekend in a number of matches.
“Oh FOR F*CK’S SAKE. That is a diabolical decision. VAR is destroying football,” he later wrote.
Whilst also adding: “That is the worst VAR decision in VAR history, and the bar for that dishonourable accolade is very very low.”
