Striking decisions to make for Hull ahead of Derby meeting
Posted Friday, October 25, 2019 by PA
Josh Magennis misses the visit of Derby as the Hull striker starts a four-match ban.
Magennis was shown a straight red card after scoring in Hull’s 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday – the second time he has been sent off this season.
Tom Eaves and Norbert Balogh are vying to replace the Northern Ireland international in the Tigers’ attack.
Jordy De Wijs should be fine after being forced off against Forest with cramp, while Jon Toral will be assessed after making his first Championship start since May 2018 at the City Ground.
Derby skipper Curtis Davies should figure despite suffering a broken nose on Wednesday.
Davies was caught in the face by an accidental high boot from Kieffer Moore in the 1-0 win against Wigan, but the former Tigers defender continued playing after having lengthy treatment on the pitch.
Jack Marriott (muscle injury) is in contention for a starting spot after ending a three-match absence from the bench in midweek.
Richard Keogh (knee), Tom Huddlestone (hamstring), Ikechi Anya (calf), George Evans (thigh) and Craig Forsyth (knee) remain out.
