Matt Phillips edging closer to return for West Brom

Matt Phillips should be back to boost West Brom when they host Charlton at the Hawthorns.

The winger missed the matches against Middlesbrough and Barnsley with a shin injury but Baggies boss Slaven Bilic expects to have him available on Saturday.

Filip Krovinovic and Conor Townsend could be pushing for recalls after their half-time introduction against Barnsley coincided with West Brom coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 in midweek.

Hal Robson-Kanu is also an option for Bilic should he wish to make any changes in his attack.

The injuries are beginning to mount up for Charlton, with Sam Field joining Jonny Williams on the sidelines.

Field, on loan from West Brom, would have been ineligible against his parent club but a knee problem sustained in the defeat at Bristol City means he is set for a spell out. Williams also suffered a knee injury in the previous match against Derby and he will be out for at least two months after undergoing an operation this week.

Jake Forster-Caskey (hamstring) also pulled up and had to be substituted at Ashton Gate and he will be assessed.

Jonathan Leko is also on loan from West Brom and is unable to play but there is some good news for Addicks boss Lee Bowyer, with Lyle Taylor nearing a return from his knee ligament problem.
