Bromley slip to second after defeat to Barrow

Bromley were knocked off the top of the Vanarama National League table after losing 2-1 at home to play-off contenders Barrow.

Dior Angus and Scott Quigley scored either side of half-time for fifth-placed Barrow, with Michael Cheek getting a late consolation for the home side, who were replaced at the top by FC Halifax.

Barrow dominated early on and they were in front with 36 minutes on the clock. The goal followed a fine move by the visitors and Angus took a touch before bundling the ball over the line.

Bromley twice went close three minutes into the second half but Cheek saw his looping header hit the underside of the bar before the ball was recycled and Adrian Clifton headed off target.

Barrow were 2-0 ahead after 53 minutes and this time Angus was the provider, going past his marker on the left before squaring for Quigley to apply the finishing touch.

Bromley got on the scoresheet with 86 minutes gone when Cheek tapped the ball in but it was not enough.
