Wycombe to check on Matt Bloomfield
Posted Thursday, October 03, 2019 by PA
Wycombe will check on the fitness of midfielder Matt Bloomfield for the Sky Bet League One match at home to Peterborough.
Bloomfield suffered nasty blows to his head in games against Lincoln and Portsmouth last month and missed the 3-0 win at Rochdale last weekend.
Paul Smyth (foot) is still out and Nnamdi Ofoborh serves the second game of his three-match ban, but Chairboys boss Gareth Ainsworth has a largely fully-fit squad to select from aside from the aforementioned trio.
Joe Jacobson and Nick Freeman are in contention while Curtis Thompson and Rolando Aarons were part of the matchday squad at Rochdale.
Eighth-placed Peterborough will be missing Nathan Thompson for the trip to second-placed Wanderers.
The right-back has a groin problem which kept him out of Posh’s 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon last weekend.
Manager Darren Ferguson has most other options at his disposal, with Frazer Blake-Tracy and George Boyd returning to the team against the Dons following calf and hamstring problems respectively.
