Pogba is bang average
Paul Pogba looks bang average and is already focused on the January transfer window.
That’s the opinion of former Manchester United star Paul Ince, who wants the French midfielder to raise his game.
"Paul Pogba looks bang average again. Those young players need his guidance right now, they need nurturing and showing where they need to be on the pitch, and Pogba should take ownership of that,” Ince told Paddy Power.
"We should be seeing that leadership. I’m not sure his head is in it, I believe his mind is on January, but he needs to take control of the team and of the youngsters that are trying to break through."
Quartet wanted
Manchester United plan to sign FOUR new players over the next year.
That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who claim the club are looking to sign a full-back, midfielder, playmaker and a striker.
James Maddison, Ben Chilwell, Jadon Sancho and Declan Rice are said to be on the shortlist.
The MEN claim United will be working against the clock and want to conclude any signings before Euro 2020 to avoid any price inflation.
Dayot Upamecano release clause
RB Leipzig are desperate to remove the release clause in Dayot Upamecano's contract.
That’s according to German publication SportBild, who claim RB Leipzig are wary of interest from Premier League Arsenal.
The Gunners came knocking during the summer transfer window but failed to persuade the Bundesliga outfit to part with their 20-year-old talent.
Upamecano's deal includes a ï¿¡89million release clause that will plunge to ï¿¡71million in the summer of 2020.
N’Golo Kante to Juventus
Maurizio Sarri wants to bring N’Golo Kante to Juventus.
The Italian tactician worked with Kante, 28, during his days as Chelsea manager and is keen on a reunion in Turin.
The Daily Mail claim Sarri has asked the club's vice-chairman Pavel Nedved to work on a transfer.
It’s said Sarri views Miralem Pjanic, Aaron Ramsey and Kante as the ‘ideal midfield’ trio and thinks a deal could be concluded for ï¿¡70million.
Jesus rejected
Bayern Munich declined the opportunity to sign Gabriel Jesus over the summer.
Sport Bild claim Manchester City offered their Brazilian during Bayern’s attempts to lure Leroy Sane to the Allianz Arena.
It’s believed a fee in the region of ï¿¡90million would have been enough to secure the striker’s signature.
Bayern have no interest in Jesus and Sane remains their top priority.
Martens on the market
Dries Mertens has revealed he could leave Napoli when his current contract expires.
Martens, 32, has less than 12 months remaining on his deal and is uncertain of his future.
“I still don't know what my future will be,” he told Voetbal. “I don't know where I'll be playing next season.
“At the end of this year, I'll assess whether to renew my contract or not, but it's still too early. I'm not in a position to rule anything out.”
