Penalty pain for Meppen-Walter as Chorley draw at Dagenham

Courtney Meppen-Walter had a penalty saved as Chorley were unable to break down 10-man Dagenham in a goalless National League draw.
Dagenham captain Kenny Clark suffered an early head injury and though he returned after lengthy treatment, he was forced off on the half-hour.
It was the most notable incident of a quiet first half while in the second Meppen-Walter forced a fine save from Dagenham keeper Elliot Justham with a fierce long-range drive.
Chorley had a golden chance to take the lead in the 72nd minute after Luke Croll conceded a penalty and was shown a second yellow card – but Justham denied Meppen-Walters again from the spot.
Jake Cottrell went close but at the other end Chorley were indebted to Mark Ross’ goal-line clearance and Matt Urwin’s save from the resulting corner.
