Former Miller Clarke-Harris nets winner as Bristol Rovers down Rotherham

Jonson Clarke-Harris scored his league seventh goal of the season as Bristol Rovers continued their climb up the League One table with a 1-0 victory over Rotherham at the Memorial Stadium.
The former Millers striker downed his old side when he latched onto a long ball over the top from Liam Sercombe in the 48th minute and held off his marker to drill an unstoppable left-footed shot past Dan Iverson.
It was a well-deserved win for Rovers, who went close on several occasions in the second half as Iverson made fine saves to deny Sercombe, Tom Nichols and Victor Adeboyejo.
Rotherham substitute Matt Olosunde forced a late fingertip save from Anssi Jaakkola, but it was one of few telling efforts by the visitors.
The first half saw Tyler Smith create and waste Rovers’ best chance after 17 minutes, robbing defender Clark Roberton inside the box and then shooting too close to Iverson.
Rotherham’s best effort before the break was Jake Hastie’s dipping volley from the edge of the box after 31 minutes, which was tipped over by Jaakkola.
