Chelsea could welcome back Callum Hudson-Odoi for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup third-round visit of Grimsby.
The England international has been missing since April due to an Achilles injury but is ready to make his comeback having signed a new contract with the Blues last week.
Reece James is in line to make his Chelsea debut having overcome an ankle problem.
Andreas Christensen (knee) and Emerson Palmieri (thigh) are both out after suffering injuries in the defeat to Liverpool, with Lampard expected to make wholesale changes for the cup tie.
Grimsby are hoping to have Harry Davis available for the trip to Stamford Bridge.
The former Crewe defender dislocated his shoulder last month and has missed the last six games but Mariners boss Michael Jolley will give him every opportunity to get fit to face the Blues.
Grimsby have defensive problems with Ludvig Ohman still sidelined by a groin injury and fellow centre-back Luke Waterfall is cup-tied having played for Shrewsbury earlier in the tournament.
Striker Ahkeem Rose has not played since the Leasing.com Trophy defeat by Scunthorpe earlier this month because of a hamstring problem and remains a doubt.
