Peter Grant strike leads Morton to victory over Dundee

Morton enjoyed the comforts of home once again as they beat Dundee 1-0 thanks to Peter Grant’s goal on the stroke of half-time.
All nine of Morton’s points this season have now come at Cappielow Park, with their three away fixtures ending in defeat.
Dundee threatened first when Paul McGowan drew a brilliant fingertip save out of Danny Rogers in the 18th minute and Morton survived another scare soon after when Declan McDaid went close.
Jordan McGhee headed just wide as Dundee continued to push for the opener but they were hit by a sucker-punch just before the interval when Morton took the lead.
Nicky Cadden’s free-kick from the left found Grant in the area and he sent a header past Jack Hamilton for what would prove to be the only goal of the game.
Both sides had chances in the second half, Dundee substitute Andrew Nelson and Reece Lyon each going close, while McDaid could not make the most of a late opportunity for the visitors as The Ton held on for a win that lifts them to fourth.
