Inverness remained third in the Scottish Championship standings after a 2-0 win over Queen of the South at Caledonian Stadium.
Sean Welsh opened the scoring for Caley Thistle in the 15th minute.
The midfielder fired in from 20 yards with a long-range volley to put the hosts ahead.
Tom Walsh added the second goal for Inverness on the rebound in the 19th minute when Doonhamers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie parried a shot.
McCrorie then denied a Walsh volley five minutes before the break before Stephen Dobbie’s long-range effort for the visitors was deflected over the crossbar at the other end.
