Morton missing for Forest Green

Forest Green will be without suspended midfielder James Morton for Saturday’s home match against Stevenage.

Morton is banned for one game following his sending off in the goalless draw at Carlisle on Tuesday.

Boss Mark Cooper says defender Matt Mills, who has been recovering from a hamstring injury, is “nearly there.”

Aaron Collins (knock) and George Williams (broken leg) remain sidelined.

Michael Timlin has re-joined rock-bottom Stevenage and could make his second debut on Saturday.

The central midfielder left the club in the summer for personal reasons but has returned after training back with Boro this week.

Experienced midfielder Timlin, who made 44 starts for Stevenage last season, is available for the trip to Forest Green.

Caretaker manager Mark Sampson is hoping to oversee the club’s first win of the season and says some injured players could return, but was coy about who might be involved.
