Atletico Madrid have joined the queue of clubs waiting to lure Christian Eriksen away from Tottenham in January.
The Danish international has so far refused to sign the £200,000-a-week new deal that Spurs have offered him, and said during the summer that he wanted a ‘new adventure.’
Eriksen wanted a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona, but no offers came in for the 27-year-old and he is still at White Hart Lane.
However, the Tottenham playmaker is in the final year of his contract and will be free to talk to clubs in January and join them as a free agent next summer – and the queue for his services is getting longer.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane is still keen, but also on Eriksen’s trail now are Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid.
Inter Milan have already made approaches, and Juventus and Manchester United are interested as well.
Last night, Eriksen’s Tottenham team-mate Harry Winks admitted that the club were relieved that the skilful midfielder has stayed – at least until January.
Winks said: “Of course we are relieved he has stayed. Christian’s a fantastic player, there’s no doubt about that.

"He’s been one of our most impressive performers over the last few years. Christian’s a top person and whatever he decides, that’s up to him.
"All we can say is how well he’s performed for us this season and how professional he is. He’s fantastic.” Eriksen has featured in all four of Tottenham’s league games so far this season.”
Eriksen has made two starts and two substitute appearances in Tottenham’s first four games of the new Premier League season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have taken just five points from a possible 12 and drew 2-2 with Arsenal last time out, with Eriksen on target.
Tottenham return to action after the international break when they welcome cross-city rivals Crystal Palace to north London on Saturday September 14.
