New signing Aarons in contention for Wycombe

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth could hand on-loan Newcastle winger Rolando Aarons a debut in the Sky Bet League One match against Lincoln.

Former England Under-20 international Aarons joined the Chairboys on loan until January ahead of the transfer deadline.

Midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh, 19, arrived on a season-long loan deal from Bournemouth, so is expected to also be included.

Defender Sido Jombati and midfielder Curtis Thompson stepped up their return from long-term injuries with some action against Brentford B in a behind-closed-doors match in midweek.

Lincoln manager Danny Cowley, who has been linked with both vacancies at Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield, has some selection concerns.

Midfielder Joe Morrell is away on international duty with Wales, while defender Aaron Lewis has been called up by Wales Under-21s.

Michael O’Connor is expected to fill in midfield, while Cowley confirmed “one or two” players are carrying knocks from the midweek Leasing.com Trophy defeat at Doncaster.

Midfielder Michael Bostwick will be assessed after coming of at half-time against Rovers in an attempt to manage his workload.
