Dominic in Pole position to start for Exiles

Newport boss Michael Flynn could hand a debut to deadline-day signing Dominic Poleon when Port Vale visit Rodney Parade.
Flynn’s injury-hit squad suffered further blows in Wednesday night’s Leasing.com Trophy defeat to West Ham Under-21s as substitute Ryan Inniss was sent off and goalscorer Tristan Abrahams came off with a stiff hamstring, but striker Poleon’s arrival has given the manager an extra option.
Lewis Collins (ankle) was also withdrawn in that game, while on-loan Millwall defender Danny McNamara is on international duty with Republic of Ireland Under-21s.
Jamille Matt and Padraig Amond could return to the matchday squad after they were unavailable for the narrow 5-4 defeat in midweek.
Vale could welcome Rhys Browne into their squad following the winger’s recovery from a hamstring injury.
Browne joined Vale from Yeovil in the summer but has yet to feature due to injury. He is now back in training, however, and could be involved.
But the game will come too soon for midfielder Manny Oyeleke (hamstring).
New striker Jordan Archer could make his first start after coming off the bench to score on his debut against Shrewsbury in Tuesday’s Leasing.com Trophy encounter.
