Barcelona agreed a fee for Las Palmas starlet Pedro Gonzalez Lopez, known simply as 'Pedri', and should a series of add-ons be met, such as international call-ups and first-team appearances, the side from Gran Canaria could receive up to 25 million euros for the 16-year-old midfielder.
Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Rodriguez has explained that they will receive 6.5 million euros at the end of the season, which will be a five million euro fee with 1.5 million euros in add-ons, but Pedri's progression could see that amount increase significantly.
"The figure could go up to 25 million euros in the coming years," Rodriguez said in relation to all the add-ons in the deal.
Pedri will stay at Las Palmas this season and could keep him for the next campaign too, should Barcelona not loan him to a team in a higher division than the Canary Islanders.
There was a lot of interest in Pedri, which Rodriguez himself alluded to.
"The three big teams in Spain [Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid] and a foreign club, who offered nine million euros," he stated when asked about who was tracking the midfielder.
Despite having a nine million euro offer on the table, Barcelona's add-ons ensured that they were the team who secured Pedri's signature. Las Palmas, in addition, have retained a 15 percent sell-on fee.
