Pogba's post against racism: My ancestors suffered for my generation to be free today

Paul Pogba has made a powerful statement on social media following the racial abuse he has suffered in recent weeks.

The Frenchman was the target of racial abuse on Twitter after he missed a penalty against Wolves last Monday.

"My ancestors and my parents suffered for my generation to be free today, to work, to take the bus, to play football," he wrote on Twitter

"Racist insults are ignorance and can only make me stronger and motivate me to fight for the next generation."

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is among several figures in football calling for tougher action to be taken against those who post hurtful comments online.
