Torquay claimed their second-successive victory to move up to seventh in the National League thanks to a 2-0 win over struggling Aldershot at Plainmoor.
Connor Lemonheigh-Evans fired wide for the Gulls in the early exchanges as the home side got off to the stronger start.
Jamie Reid found the net with his fourth goal of the season on the brink of half-time as he picked out the bottom corner of the Shots goal with a long-range stunner.
On-loan Bristol City midfielder Opi Edwards doubled the hosts’ advantage six minutes after the break with his first goal since the opening-day win over Boreham Wood.
Torquay continued to dominate the match but could not find a third as the visitors dropped down three places to 22nd as a result.
