Arbroath win thanks to Linn

Dick Campbell’s Arbroath secured their first victory of the new Ladbrokes Championship season as an early goal from stalwart striker Bobby Linn went unanswered at Alloa.
Arbroath have endured a flat start to their first Championship campaign since promotion, after a goalless draw at Queen of the South and defeat to Inverness left them with just one point.
After dominating early play, the Red Lichties were rewarded in the 17th minute as Greig Spence found fellow forward Linn, whose subsequent shot soared past home keeper Neil Parry to make it 1-0.
Peter Grant’s Alloa, who suffered a heavy 4-1 loss at Morton last time out, were unable to mount a meaningful challenge to level the scoreline.
Alloa were further weakened in the 77th minute when midfielder Steven Hetherington was sent off after accumulating two yellow cards, leaving Jim Goodwin’s side resigned to defeat.
