Shankland at the double as Dundee United see off Dunfermline

Lawrence Shankland scored twice and missed a penalty as Dundee United won 2-0 at Dunfermline to make it nine points from three Ladbrokes Championship games.
The prolific striker opened the scoring for United in only the 11th minute, firing past goalkeeper Ryan Scully from a narrow angle.
And Shankland, who scored 33 goals for Ayr last season, made it nine for his new employers this term with a header on the half-hour.
Dunfermline went close through Kevin Nisbet in the second half, but United continued to be the more threatening and Shankland’s cross almost created a goal for substitute Peter Pawlett.
Scully’s penalty save denied Shankland a hat-trick but there was to be no way back into the game for the hosts.
