Three in a row for Maidenhead after win at Yeovil

Maidenhead held on to claim their third straight victory with a narrow 2-1 National League win over Yeovil at Huish Park.
Chances were at a premium for both sides during the opening half with Jake Cassidy sending his effort wide for the visitors from the edge of box, while Lawson D’Ath fired a free-kick over at the other end.
Yeovil began the second half stronger but conceded just before the hour mark as Maidenhead summer signing Josh Smile’s low free-kick handed his side the lead after the ball deflected home.
Moments later the away side were awarded a penalty for handball against Carl Dickinson, but goalkeeper Stuart Nelson guessed correctly and kept out Cassidy’s spot-kick.
Thomas Bradbury thought he had equalised for Yeovil with 20 minutes remaining as he had the ball in the back of the net but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Substitute Daniel Whitehall, who came off the bench to score a brace against Chorley last weekend, doubled Maidenhead’s lead with a long-range strike five minutes from time.
Courtney Duffus pulled one back for the home side a minute later but it was not enough.
