Fylde stunned by newcomers Woking

Newly-promoted Woking’s flying start to the National League season continued as they won 4-1 at AFC Fylde.
Fylde stopper James Montgomery could not prevent Dave Tarpey’s exquisite 17th-minute free-kick opening the scoring at Mill Farm, before the visitors doubled their lead six minutes before the interval as Kane Ferdinand nodded home Josh Casey’s whipped free-kick.
A Lewis Montrose header halved the deficit 11 minutes into the second half but the hosts’ search for an equaliser was made more difficult by midfielder Ryan Croasdale’s dismissal with 15 to play.
Jake Hyde restored the Cards’ two-goal cushion from close range with seven minutes remaining, before wrapping up their fourth win in five games three minutes later from the penalty spot.
