MANCHESTER UNITED are bracing themselves for Real Madrid to make an offer for midfielder Paul Pogba in the coming weeks.

But the Premier League side will reportedly "not entertain" any bids for their French World Cup winner.

According to The Telegraph, United "have no intention of allowing Pogba to depart on several grounds".

The first is that boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was encouraged by Pogba's attitude in pre-season as rumours continued to mount that he would be seeking a move.

Pogba started and finished United's first game of the new season - a 4-0 battering of Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Secondly, with the Premier League transfer window closed, United would not be able to bring in a world class replacement should the 26-year-old leave.

The Mirror reports that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has told club chiefs that Pogba is his priority signing this summer.

There are even reports that Zidane could "walk out on Real" if the club fail to land the French international.

But even if United's ï¿¡180million valuation of Pogba is met, the player is unlikely to be allowed to head to Spain.

Speaking after laying on two assists in United's 4-0 trouncing of Chelsea, Pogba admitted there is "still a question mark" over his future.

When quizzed about the transfer speculation after the win over the Blues, the ex-Juventus ace told French radio station RMC: “I always feel good when I play football.

“I do the things I like, plus it's my job. I give my all every time I go out on the pitch.

“I'm aware that things have been said. Only time will tell.

"There's always that question mark.

"I'm at Manchester. I have fun with my team-mates, I always want to win matches and I always give my best when I'm on the pitch.”
