Wigan expected to ring changes for Stoke clash

Wigan boss Paul Cook plans to make several changes to his team for the Carabao Cup clash against Stoke.
That could mean first starts for new signings Joe Williams, Jamal Lowe, Kieffer Moore and Charlie Mulgrew.
Sam Morsy has resumed training after a hamstring injury and Cook could use the first-round tie to get some minutes into the midfielder’s legs.
Danny Fox (leg) and Joe Garner (hamstring) are carrying knocks from the weekend and will not be involved.
James McClean could return for Stoke against his former club but Nick Powell is expected to miss a quick return to the DW Stadium.
Former Wigan midfielder McClean has been given time off for personal reasons over the past week and missed the 3-1 defeat at Charlton on Saturday.
Forward Powell, who joined Stoke after leaving Latics in the summer, remains doubtful as he continues to recover from a calf injury.
Potters boss Nathan Jones made half-a-dozen changes at the weekend and more are anticipated for Tuesday’s tie.
