Sutton struck back to rescue a point from a 2-2 Vanarama National League draw with Chorley at Gander Green Lane to extend their unbeaten start to the season to three matches.
Chorley’s Courtney Meppen-Walter opened the scoring early on as he headed home Adam Blakeman’s corner at the far post after seven minutes.
The visitors doubled their lead three minutes later as summer signing Chris Holroyd opened his account with a close-range effort after Meppen-Walter’s header struck the crossbar following another Blakeman corner.
Aaron Jarvis reduced the deficit within the opening 15 minutes with a close-range finish at the opposite end to give Sutton some hope and former Notts County midfielder Robert Milsom slotted home his free-kick 10 minutes after the break to level matters and make sure the spoils were shared.
