MANCHESTER UNITED could make Bruno Fernandes their third summer signing once Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s move is confirmed, but it depends heavily on whether Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba leave the club.

That is according to Sky Sports transfer man Kaveh Solhekol.

United agreed a £50million fee, including £5m in add-ons, for Wan-Bissaka on Wednesday afternoon after weeks of negotiations with Crystal Palace.

The 21-year-old, who made 35 Premier League appearances last season at right-back, is expected to complete a medical tonight.

He will join Daniel James, also 21, as the new boys at Carrington, which will house the first training session of pre-season on Monday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen for more business this summer with a centre-back and central midfielder the priorities.

Although executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward vowed to back his manager in the market, the club will have to raise some funds in order to afford more notable purchases.

Both Pogba and Lukaku want to leave the club after experiencing mercurial stays at Old Trafford.

United want to keep Pogba but would find it difficult to turn down £150m for the midfielder, who they made the most expensive player in the world when they bought him for £89m from Juventus in 2016.

Juventus are one of the clubs interested in the World Cup winner, as are Real Madrid, who are reluctant to meet United’s valuation.

United are open to selling Lukaku, who wants out before United jet off to Australia in two weeks’ time, but want to recoup the £75m spent on the inconsistent Belgian striker in 2017.

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte wants the Belgian, who he tried to sign for Chelsea two years ago, but Nerazzurri chiefs are struggling to justify spending such a large sum.

Sky Sports reporter Solhekol claims the outcome of those sagas will determine who arrives next.

“A lot of their transfer strategy depends on what happens with [Pogba and Lukaku],” he said. “But other players will be coming in to United. The next one, if not Maguire, could be Bruno Fernandes.

“The Sporting midfield player has been playing so well for Portugal. A lot of big clubs are after him and his agent says that United have been in touch.”

Fernandes scored 31 goals in all competitions last season and wants to fulfil his childhood dream of playing in the Premier League, but is not itching for a move.

The Lisbon club want north of £62.2m ($70m) for their captain, whose deal runs until 2023.
