Diego Maradona - hire me!
Diego Maradona has declared his interest in managing Manchester United, insisting he can bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.
"If Manchester [United] need a coach, I'm the man to do it," Maradona told FourFourTwo magazine.
"I know they sell lots of shirts around the world, but they need to win trophies, too. I can do that for them.
"Manchester United used to be my favourite English team for so long. So many great players and a great team under Alex Ferguson.
"But now I have to say Man City. I know you shouldn't change like that but it's because of Kun [Aguero]. We speak a lot and he plays in a very good team."
Alexis Sanchez contract
Atletico Madrid are prepared to take a punt on Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez, who earns a whopping £300,000-a-week at Old Trafford, has scored just five goals in 45 appearances for the Red Devils.
But his troubles could soon be over, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.
He tweeted: "Atletico Madrid is really interested in Alexis Sanchez. He could leave from Manchester United in summer and Simeone has offered to "El Nino Maravilla" a contract until 2022."
New target for Arsenal
Arsenal are reportedly among a number of clubs monitoring CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov with Unai Emery planning a rebuild at the Emirates.
Danny Welbeck will leave and Emery could replace him with Chalov, according to Sky Sports News.
Chalov was top-scorer in the Russian Premier League, scoring 15 times for CSKA.
The 21-year-old also netted against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the Champions League.
Medical completed
Swansea winger Daniel James has completed his Manchester United medical, according to the Daily Record.
Swansea have agreed a fee in the region of £18million for James, who represents Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first signing since he was appointed permanent manager at Old Trafford.
James left Wales' base near Chester to undergo a medical at United's Carrington training ground today.
And having completed it, he is expected to rejoin the Wales squad before the upcoming qualifiers in Croatia on Saturday and in Hungary next Tuesday.
Eden Hazard to Real Madrid
Real Madrid and Chelsea have agreed a £130million fee for Eden Hazard.
That's according to the Telegraph, who claim Zinedine Zidane's side will pay an initial £88m with a further £42m in performance-related add-ons.
Hazard, who was set to become a free agent in June 2020, guided Chelsea to the Europa League title in Baku last month with two goals in a 4-1 win over London rivals Arsenal.
"My dream was to play in the Premier League and I did it for seven years. I think it's a goodbye," he said after that game.
Nicolas Pepe hijack
Liverpool are preparing a £71million offer for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, it has been claimed.
Jurgen Klopp is ready to enter the battle for his signature and hijack Manchester United and Arsenal in the process.
French outlet L'Equipe claim Liverpool are interested in signing Pepe.
The 23-year-old netted 23 times and provided 12 assists in all competitions this season.
And that has led to a host of top European clubs looking to secure his signature this summer.
Now Liverpool have entered the race but they may only make a move should Mohamed Salah leave Anfield.
The Christian Eriksen dilemma
Zinedine Zidane could be on a collision course with club chiefs over their pursuit of Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.
Spanish journalist Alvaro Montero insists president Florentio Perez is desperate to sign the Dane, however, he also says boss Zidane is not so sure.
It is claimed Zidane wants to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United instead but that Perez might overrule him because Eriksen represents a cheaper option.
"There's a big problem in Real Madrid right now," Montero told Sky Sports. "Zidane's goal for the next season, as it was three years ago, is Paul Pogba.
"The thing is, Eriksen seems to be cheaper and seems to be a better fit for Real Madrid for their kind of playing.
"If I had to bet right now, I would say Eriksen is easier for Real Madrid to get because Florentino Perez wants him.
"It's easier for Real Madrid to negotiate with Tottenham and Daniel Levy, and pay those 90-100m euros."
