Real Madrid veteran Modric: Big challenge to return to our old ways

Real Madrid veteran Luka Modric admits they face a huge challenge to shake off the past season.

Real saw three coaching appointments during the trophyless campaign.

"At Real Madrid we have the challenge of returning to old ways, of getting back to being the best," he said.

"The same could be said about the national team."

Modric has been named Croatian Player of the Year.

"This award means a lot to me, so I can only say thank you to everyone that voted for me," he said.

"It's always good to win this award, which is voted for by fellow professionals.

"Thanks to my teammates, as without them this award wouldn't have been possible."
