Icardi on exit rumours: I intend to stay at Inter

Mauro Icardi has insisted that he intends to stay at Inter next season.

Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport had hinted that the striker had decided to switch Inter for Juventus this summer.

"Given that the press have recently spread news that doesn't reflect my thoughts or my wishes, I want to inform [Inter] fans that I've repeatedly told the club that I intend to stay at Inter," Icardi said on Instagram.

"So, from now on, there will be no misunderstandings of any type. I understand the interests of the press, but I repeat: I've already told Inter that I wish to stay because Inter are my family. Time will tell who is telling the truth."

It hasn't been Icardi's best season in an Inter shirt. He was stripped of the club captaincy and has managed 16 goals in all competitions.
