REVEALED: Barcelona and Valverde have split clause

Barcelona can axe coach Ernesto Valverde with no compensation due, it has been revealed.

Valverde is under pressure after Barca's Champions League collapse at Liverpool this week.

Sport says in his new contract there exists an exit clause which can be activated by either Valverde or the club itself at the end of each season. This means that should Valverde be told he's no longer needed the club wouldn't need to pay up the remaining year left on his deal.

Valverde penned terms to 2020 with the option for another year earlier this season.
