Zlatan Ibrahimovic Confronts Nedum Onuoha In Changing Room After On-Field Clash

Real Salt Lake defender Nedum Onuoha refused to accept Zlatan Ibrahimovic's apology after the two clashed in last night's MLS game.

It all started when Zlatan grabbed the former Manchester City defender and spun him around in the 60th minute, angering Onuoha and earning a yellow card for his cynical foul.

And then when the Swede bagged the winner in the 78th minute, he immediately escalated the duel by celebrating right in the face of the Nigerian-born centre-back and properly rubbing salt in the wounds.

The well-travelled striker went to the opposition changing room after the game to apologise to Onuoha but in footage that has been doing the rounds, the 32-year was clearly having none of it.

Onuoha was later interviewed on the subject and stressed that he had no intention of accepting the apology offered from Zlatan, deeming his behaviour "unacceptable".

"He came into apologize after the game because from 60 minutes in he's saying he's going to do me, he's going to hurt me for that game," Onuoha told reporters post-match, via Goal.

"This is a guy who is the face of MLS, as he calls himself, but this is the way that he plays on the field? So I don't care. If someone comes in and says that to me, I don't care. I'm not going to accept his apology. It's unacceptable."

Zlatan, however, defended his actions and played the situation down during a media scrum in the Galaxy locker room.

"What happened on the field stays on the field. I like to feel alive," Ibrahimovic said.

"I like when it becomes duels and that, because sometimes - not that I fall asleep, but I don't feel alive if they don't actually activate me. ... When I get angry, I feel good."

At the ripe age of 37, Ibrahimovic has now scored 30 goals in 34 MLS games for Galaxy and will look to add to his tally in the game against New York Red Bulls next week.
