Stenhousemuir seized the initiative in the battle to avoid automatic relegation from Scottish League One as a 1-1 draw with East Fife moved them off the foot of the table.
Brechin City slipped to bottom spot as they went down 3-2 at Raith Rovers, meaning they will have to win when they go head to head with their relegation rivals on the final day of the season.
Brechin twice surrendered the lead against third-placed Raith to fall a point behind Stenhousemuir in the race for the relegation play-off place and the chance to stay up.
Ross Kavanagh twice gave Brechin the lead in the first half, but on both occasions Kevin Nisbet equalised for third-placed Raith.
And Liam Buchanan grabbed the winner for the hosts in the second half.
Aaron Dunsmore put East Fife in front against Stenhousemuir, but Ruaridh Donaldson levelled for the hosts only three minutes later.
At the other end of the table, Forfar remained second, a point ahead of Raith, after a John Baird goal earned them a 1-0 win over Montrose.
Airdrieonians beat 10-man champions Arbroath 3-0 thanks to Sean McIntosh’s hat-trick, with Thomas O’Brien sent off for the visitors.
A fast start earned Dumbarton a 2-1 home win over Stranraer.
Goals from Callum Gallagher and Ross Forbes had the hosts two up inside 20 minutes, with Innes Cameron replying in the second half.
