Dover completed an impressive nine-match unbeaten finish to the National League campaign with a 3-0 win over Sutton at Crabble.
After winning just one of their first 18 matches, the resurgent Whites finished in a creditable 14th, and led their final match when Stuart Lewis netted from a deflected cross.
Anthony Jeffrey also shot just wide as the hosts demonstrated their increased confidence of recent weeks.
In the second half, substitute Inih Effiong smashed into the top corner following a bustling run to make it safe for Andy Hessenthaler’s men 14 minutes from time.
Josh Passley scored a third from the spot at the end – and goalkeeper Mitch Walker recorded a poignant clean-sheet in his final Dover appearance after six years’ service.
