Leeds United vs Aston Villa - Kemar Roofe ruled out of Leeds’ clash with Villa

Leeds will be without striker Kemar Roofe for their Championship clash with in-form Aston Villa on Sunday.

The 26-year-old had only recently returned from a lengthy spell out with a knee injury and is now sidelined by a hip problem, although it is not thought to be serious.

Leeds will also be without winger Ezgjan Alioski and left-back Barry Douglas, who will both miss the rest of the season following knee operations.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s hopes of automatic promotion are increasingly faint after back-to-back defeats by Wigan and Brentford.

Villa pair Tammy Abraham and Kortney Hause will both miss the match.

On-loan Chelsea forward Abraham was absent for Monday’s victory over Millwall with a shoulder injury and it is not yet clear when he will be able to return.

There is better news for defender Hause, who remains sidelined by a hip problem but should be fit for next weekend’s clash with Norwich.

Manager Dean Smith will be able to pick defender Axel Tuanzebe, who missed the clash with Millwall, as Villa look to extend their club record run of 10 victories in a row.
