Reggie Lambe is to miss Cambridge’s two remaining games, starting against Morecambe on Saturday, so he can prepare for the Gold Cup with Bermuda.
The midfielder is part of the squad who will take part in the competition which is being staged between June 15 and July 7 in North America, Costa Rica and Jamaica.
Manager Colin Calderwood agreed to Lambe missing the games against Morecambe and Macclesfield with the U’s being safe from relegation.
George Maris and Liam O’Neil are also unavailable for the two fixtures and Aston Villa loanee Jake Doyle-Hayes will miss the game with Morecambe but could face Macclesfield. Alex Jones and Brad Halliday could return to play some part against Morecambe.
Midfielder Aaron Wildig will look to retain his place for Morecambe after returning in the 4-0 home win over Cheltenham.
Wildig missed the 4-0 defeat at Mansfield on Good Friday through illness but played the full game against the Robins.
Vadaine Oliver played for 67 minutes against Cheltenham, scoring the opening goal, following two appearances off the bench as he continues his recovery following a knee injury.
Kevin Ellison, Luke Conlan and Piero Mingoia will look to retain their starting places.
