Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk gives his thoughts on title race

Liverpool vs Man City

Liverpool have just three games remaining of their 2018/19 Premier League season.

The Reds currently sit top of the table with 88 points, two more than 2nd place Manchester City.

However, the Citizens do have a game in hand on Liverpool, which is against a struggling Manchester United side later this week.

After United, City face Leicester, Brighton and Burnley in their remaining three league outings.

Should they win all four they will be Premier League champions for the second season in a row.

Van Dijk opens up on title race

As for Liverpool, their remaining three games are against Huddersfield, Newcastle and Wolves.

While Huddersfield and Newcastle have very little to play for, Wolves will likely still be fighting for 7th place when they take on Jurgen Klopp's side.

Wolves have also proven to be a nightmare for the top six sides this season having already taken points off Man United, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs.

They also beat Liverpool in the 3rd round of the FA Cup earlier this season.

Ahead of these key fixtures, Virgil van Dijk has been speaking about the title race.

When asked if his side must win their remaining three games VVD stated:

"One hundred per cent. That's the only thing we are going to focus on.

"We have three games left and we are going to try and win all of them. It's going to be very hard, but that's what we're looking to do.

"We did our job (at Cardiff). We had to stay patient, but it was a very mature performance and it was good to get the three points. Our next challenge is going to be on Friday, so we'll see."As quoted by the Evening Standard.
