Chris Porter bags brace as Crewe claim County Ground win

Chris Porter netted a first-half brace as Crewe edged a 2-1 win over Swindon for their first victory at the County Ground since 2002.
Porter scored his 11th league goal of the season after three minutes when he tapped a Tommy Lowery’s cutback into an empty net for an early lead.
The second goal arrived just as the half was about to end, and it was a carbon copy of the earlier strike.
Again, Lowery surged down the right and played a low ball in towards Porter, who had the easy task of tapping in again to get number 12 for the League Two season.
Michael Doughty pulled Swindon back into the game courtesy of a 63rd-minute penalty after Ben House was fouled in the box, but it was little more than a consolation.
Crewe should have been 3-0 up early in the second half, but inexplicably got a two-on-one situation wrong by Porter being in an offside position for yet another tap-in, to deny him his hat-trick.
