Morecambe midfielder Aaron Wildig could return to contention for the home game against Cheltenham.
Wildig missed Friday’s 4-0 defeat at Mansfield through illness, but is hoping to recover in time to be included in the squad.
Striker Vadaine Oliver continued his recovery from a knee injury with a second appearance off the bench at Mansfield and should feature again, while Kevin Ellison, Luke Conlan and Piero Mingoia are pushing for recalls.
The Shrimpers’ League Two safety was guaranteed on Friday, despite their heavy loss, as both Yeovil and Notts County were beaten.
Cheltenham boss Michael Duff has no new injury or suspension worries, but could rotate his squad.
Billy Waters, Jacob Maddox and Ryan Broom are among those pushing for starting places after stepping off the bench in Friday’s goalless home draw against Oldham.
Striker Luke Varney recovered from concussion in time to start against Oldham and is expected to continue.
Nigel Atangana (Achilles), Tyrone Barnett (calf) and Alex Addai (hamstring) have all been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
