Real Madrid Boss Zinedine Zidane Will 'Have €500m To Spend On Signings'

Ex-Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello believes that his former employers will be making a statement of intent in this summer's transfer window.

Los Blancos have fallen well short of the high expectations that the Madrid uppers wanted the club to achieve this season, with Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari both receiving the sack before the return of Zinedine Zidane last month.

Well, Capello reckons that Madrid president Florentino Pérez will unshackle the club's war chest and provide the Los Blancos head coach with the funds needed to revamp the entire squad.

"They told me Real Madrid have €500 million to spend on signings," he told Sky Sports Italia.

"I was in Barcelona this week and someone who knows Real Madrid really well told me that."

It is not the first time that the 72-year-old Italian has offered his two cents on the current state of Madrid.

In fact, the former England, Juventus and Roma boss recently admitted at the World Soccer Congress that Zizou was in a much better position in terms of the power that he now wields at the club.

"It surprised me that Zidane returned, but I think that he has a lot more power now than before," he explained (via Diario AS).

Madrid have wasted no time in making signings already, which was shown through their €50m acquisition of Éder Militão from Porto on a six-year deal.

The reigning Champions League holders have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea's Eden Hazard, who is believed to be the club's number one target this summer.

If Madrid land the 28-year-old Blues ace, then recent reports suggest that Chelsea will shift their attention to Lille's Nicolas Pépé as a replacement.

Zidane's men are third in La Liga and are four points behind second-placed Atlético Madrid with six matches to play in the league.

However, Los Blancos have fallen 13 points behind league leaders Barcelona, so Capello might be right with the money they're ready to invest in order to put the club back on track in La Liga and in the Champions League.
