Barnsley will hope to have Liam Lindsay available for the visit of Shrewsbury.
The highly-rated defender missed Saturday’s win over Fleetwood but has returned to training.
Adam Jackson deputised for Lindsay at the weekend and could retain his place in the starting XI.
Forward Victor Adeboyejo played for the club’s under-23 side in midweek after being short of playing time in recent weeks.
Shrewsbury midfielder David Edwards is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing ankle ligament surgery on Tuesday.
The Wales international has only made six appearances since he returned to the club in January.
Goalkeeper Steve Arnold remains on the treatment table with a hamstring strain and could also miss the final four games of the campaign.
Shrewsbury are 13th in Sky Bet League One, six points above the relegation zone.
