Real Madrid coach Florentino Perez has told Los Blancos chiefs to sell Gareth Bale

ZINEDINE ZIDANE has told Real Madrid chiefs to get rid of Gareth Bale - even if Los Blancos lose money on selling their star, according to reports.

The French coach has lost patience with the Welshman and club president Florentino Perez's special treatment of the forward is now set to end.

Perez had refused to sale Bale, 29, for years as the former Tottenham star was his buy, who was supposed to lay the groundwork for building a new Galacticos side.

But according to the Independent, the special treatment has now ended as Zidane hopes to cash in on the winger to raise money for his summer squad revamp.

Upon his return to Madrid, the Frenchman was given a much bigger say over transfer policy than his predecessors - or Zidane himself before leaving the Bernabeu last year.

And he has decided Bale is not in his plans and has urged the club to sell the Welshman in order to make room for new players - with Chelsea forward Eden Hazard on the verge of securing his move to Madrid.

Los Blancos also urgently want to offload his hefty, £500,000-a-week wages - and build the team around Brazil starlet Vinicius Junior.

And therefore, the La Liga giants are now ready to part ways with Bale for a more affordable price to potential suitors.

When asked about the winger's situation last week, Zidane fuelled speculations, failing to ensure Bale's future is at the Bernabeu.

He said: “There are seven games left and I’m counting on Gareth.

“I expect the same of him as I do the others.”

Manchester United have been a long-term admirer of Bale with rumours claiming the Welshman could be involved in any deal taking Paul Pogba to Madrid.
