The midfielder started as his side ran out 3-0 winners in a Copa Libertadores clash.

Bruno Guimaraes has been earning rave reviews in his homeland

And local reports have claimed the Blues sent a scout to watch Guimaraes, who played well in the victory.

GloboEsporte add that he was in Athletico president Mario Celso Petraglia's box along with the son of a businessman who works with the 21-year-old ace's agent.

Shakhtar, Inter Milan, Lille and Napoli have all been keeping tabs on the defensive midfielder.

And it seems a move to Europe is imminent for Guimaraes, who broke into Athletico's first team last year.

Regarded as a late bloomer, the playmaker has racked up 32 senior appearances in Brazil.

Chelsea face a fight to keep some of their homegrown youngsters, with Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount both being targeted by RB Leipzig.

The Bundesliga club have been scouting the young Blues for some time and want them for the 2019-20 season squad, say reports in Germany.

Abraham and Mount, both currently away on loan, could join Callum Hudson-Odoi in quitting Stamford Bridge for the German top-flight.

Hudson-Odoi has grown frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities under Maurizio Sarri and is being courted by Bayern Munich.

The England winger - along with the likes of Eden Hazard - is being tipped to leave West London this summer.

Chelsea are set to suffer through the first of their two-window transfer ban and could rely on their youngsters to stay afloat in the meantime.
