Barcelona planning to sell €300million worth of players this summer

Bad news for Coutinho, Umtiti and Rakitic?

Barcelona are reportedly looking to recoup about €300million in player sales during the summer transfer window which could see several players leave.

It's been an expensive few years for the Catalan club.

While they sold Neymar for a world record fee back in 2017, Barcelona splashed the cash to replace him with Ousmane Dembele.

The transfer window after they decided to sign Liverpool star Phillippe Coutinho for another huge chunk of money, said to be £142million.

While there have been a fair few signings since including the likes of Malcom, Frenkie De Jong is the latest big name to sign for Barcelona.

The Dutch midfielder signed for the Blaugrana in a deal which could reach €86million.

As a result, Barcelona may now have to balance the books and reportedly will do in the upcoming transfer window.

Barcelona looking to balance the books

According to ESPN, the Camp Nou side are looking to raise between €250million and €300million in the next window.

That will allow them to both balance the books and make signings in the off-season.

With this in mind, there are plenty of players who could leave.

Starting with the obvious, ESPN claim players out on loan such as Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez will be sold as they have no future under Valverde.

Three big players who could also bring in sizeable amounts of money are Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti and Ivan Rakitic.

Coutinho has been linked with a move away, most recently to Chelsea.

Samuel Umtiti has been linked with a move to Arsenal while Rakitic has been linked with Man United.

ESPN ultimately claim that all could be sold for their separate reasons, bringing in a hefty amount of cash.

Safe to say, it's going to be a busy summer at the Camp Nou if reports are to be believed.
