CELTIC star Scott Brown had the perfect response when asked what his bust-up with Andy Halliday was all about.

Celtic prevailed in a feisty Old Firm derby at Parkhead earlier today after winning 2-1.

Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring with a mazy run before Alfredo Morelos was sent off for elbowing Brown off the ball.

Ryan Kent equalised to give Steven Gerrard’s men hope but James Forrest came up trumps to grab the winner late on.

And the Hoops skipper was bound to be involved throughout, with the Morelos red card incident just the beginning.

Brown later found himself in a confrontation with Kent after Forrest scored, with the Liverpool loanee sending the Scotsman to the ground with a punch.

Kent escaped a red card but that fate was met by Halliday instead, who also nearly came to blows with the Celtic midfielder.

Following the full-time whistle, the Rangers fullback immediately went to Brown and had to be held off by Bhoys keeper Scott Bain.

As the fracas gathered momentum, Brown stood away to celebrate with the home fans as Halliday grew more incensed.

The 27-year-old was shown a second yellow by referee Bobby Madden and became the second player to be sent off for Gerrard’s men.

And Brown, forever the wind-up merchant, had an hilarious answer when asked about the situation.

A reporter asked the Scotland international: "What happened with Andy Halliday at the end?!"

Brown replied: "He came up to congratulate me!"

And the journalist quipped back: "Really?"

Brown simply gave the wriest of smiles before walking off.
