Smith and Boden on target as Chesterfield secure third straight win

Early second-half goals from Jonathan Smith and Scott Boden gave Chesterfield a 2-0 National League win over Dagenham & Redbridge at the Proact Stadium.
Neither side could craft any clear-cut chances in the first half, but matters sprang into life in spectacular style just after the interval.
Seemingly invigorated by John Sheridan’s 15-minute team talk, the Spireites knocked in two within five minutes, the first from Smith from 25-yards, sending a low rapier strike past Elliot Justham.
Three minutes later, Joe Rowley played in Boden who found the left corner with a precise shot for his 19th goal of the season.
Chesterfield’s third win in a row takes them past the 50-point mark, hauling them comfortably clear of an end-of-season relegation battle.
