Luton extend their lead with Bristol Rovers victory

First-half goals from James Collins and Luke Berry proved enough for Luton to extend their lead at the top of League One with a 2-1 win at Bristol Rovers.
The visitors took a 17th-minute lead when full-back Jack Stacey got behind the Rovers defence on the right and saw his low cross slotted home by the unmarked Collins.
It was 2-0 after 39 minutes when midfielder Berry netted with a right-footed shot from 12 yards in a crowded box after neat build-up play down the left.
Rovers were given hope in first-half stoppage time when striker Jonson Clarke-Harris collected an Ed Upson pass and cut in from the left to fire past advancing goalkeeper James Shea.
The home side improved after the break but found it hard to penetrate a strong Luton rearguard, well marshalled by skipper Sonny Bradley.
Elliott Lee missed a chance to make it 3-1, while at the other end Clarke-Harris was denied by a saving block from Stacey.
