Alloa shock leaders Ross County
Posted Sunday, March 31, 2019 by PA
Alloa ended a run of three straight defeats to boost their survival hopes with a 1-0 win over Ladbrokes Championship leaders Ross County.
The victory still leaves the Wasps at the foot of the table, but they now trail Falkirk in the relegation play-off position by just two points. County remain two points clear of Dundee United at the top with two games in hand.
Alloa went ahead in the 33rd minute when Dario Zanatta made his way through the County defence before firing beyond Scott Fox.
The visitors could have gone level moments before the break but Brian Graham put a header over the bar from six yards out.
Jamie Lindsay had another header saved by Neil Parry after the break before Ross Stewart had another effort blocked as County went in search of an equaliser.
